Full Function™ Wheelchair Platform

“it is my opinion that each health authority should consider
investing in one”Mr Alistair Boles
National Rehabilitation Hospital Dunlaoghire, IrelandThe Full Function Wheelchair Platform establishes the gold standard for wheelchair patient dental provision. Installed on any floor of a building, it provides the ultimate in control and access. Developed by Design Specific engineers in conjunction with the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, London, the unit there remains the centrepiece for the clinical team.
The main mechanism is housed below floor level, and the High Comfort backrest and wheel support can be completely removed, to make the whole floor area open and fully accessible. Lift, descent and tilt are controlled from a simple microprocessor controlled handset that can also be programmed with ‘home’ and four preferred tilt settings. The Full Function™ Wheelchair Platform can tilt to 45° and support up to 595 lbs (270 Kg). It is suitable for use with both standard and highly specialised and personalised wheelchairs.
The mechanism is housed below the floor level leaving all the surgery space clear for general circulation. The backrest is easily removed to give a totally free floor space. When designing special provision for wheelchair patients the Full Function Platform needs serious consideration.
